Thanks for the update, Maxine, about your family in the storm. I suspect residents of barrier islands learn to be flexible -or- they move away. Having to find a temporary home while your newest residence is being repaired is quite a hassle. How do you know where your stuff is when there is an old place, a new place, and a temporary place? Thanks for writing.
Western Canada is incredible. We went on an Alaskan cruise a while back which we also enjoyed. Banff and Alaska are the two big trips of our lives. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to experience them both.
Maxine, I do believe you have the most gorgeous photos I've seen on Ning. Glad I discovered your page. Where were these taken? Do you mind saying what type camera you used?
>>Wow Polly! Who would think you'd take the time to find their website?
Part of this ninging around is to get to know people's interests. That means admiring the cat/dog/bike/kids/grandkids and whatever else is their passion. Although we may never have the pleasure of a face-to-face gabfest, I can look for your surfer family's website and enjoy the photos. I very much enjoy looking through other people's photo sites and do so whenever a website address if offered.
>>Actually they have a larger one that they sale adds on also. (www.spadre.com)
AH HA - they have a surfcam! Now if tropical storm Dolly doesn't take down the camera, I can watch it as it reaches the coast of Texas.
>By the way, your page is very impressive.
Thank you, I like to share my discoveries. Never know when someone will find something that fills their need. Thank you for writing.
>>Your pictures look professional.
These were taken with a Walgreen's pre-packaged camera. The only adjustment options are flash or no-flash. It is a point-and-shoot, you move the film forward by turning a dial.
the Walgreen's deal was:
--you buy their cheap camera (it was $9.00 and already loaded with film),
--after shooting all the film, take the camera to any Walgreen's,
--they remove the used film and put fresh film in the camera for no extra charge,
--you pay for whatever developing option you chose.
I never imagined the photos would be so good. After seeing the first prints, I wised up and told them "don't make prints - make me a CD." That is how I got the photos on my computer at home.
>>Are they of the Gulf Coast?
Folly Beach, SC which is an island outside of Charleston.

Hope you get to Canada, you will not regret it!

Maxine, do they post them publicly?
