About me

I like to hike and backpack and love the mountains, after growing up in flat Louisiana. So I have my perfect job at Anna Porter Public Library in Gatlinburg. I get to see mountains all day, and can walk in them after work. Dusty is my 9 months old Golden Retriever. I'm hoping he'll go backpacking with me. Right now he carries an empty pack when we walk around our neighborhood in Knoxville.

He is especially off put now that our son has turned 16 and begun to drive alone. Cotton (the Lab) tries to tell us when Max (the son) is leaving. It's really funny because it's as if he thinks I can't possibly know and/or approve of Max's behavior.

Cotton, specifically, and dogs, in general, are just plain wonderful, imho. However, there have been a handful of days when I really good picture of him would be enough...

Please don't call the ASPCA, I'm joking.
