2. Where did Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley appear together?

By searching the "Southern Life" database, I found an article that described a 30 second digitally altered ad that was created back in 2006 which featured Dolly and Elvis sitting in a car together. The scene was taken from Elvis Presley's 1967 film "Clambake".

The advertisement was used to promote tourism in Tennessee.

I found this answer too.

This is the first time Elvis' image has been digitally manipulated.

I just wanted to share a link to an article by Joyce Valenza called" The New Invisible Web." She talks about searching tweets, blogs & wikis.

What a great lesson, Sue and Genny! Can't wait to DIG in. ;-)

Sue and Genny,

The third question provided great stimulus to explore Power Search. I think I over-reacted to the options rather than zeroing in on the most specific database, which might have been "What Do I Read Next." I ultimately found the answer through Novelist.

Porter Hall Tennessee is a music group and the place does not exist, so I guess the county can be whichever county you want it to be.

Ok I found the Elvis and Dolly add that was made. Wonderful what technology can do. Elvis and I were together at TLA when it was in Kingsport. I also found Annelle R. Huggins review of The Eternity Cure. Sounded really interesting. I found it under Information Science & library Issue. The problem was with Portal Hall. I found Halls TN and I found the mythical place called Porter Hall, Tennessee. I hope that is it. The Tennessee Blue Book did not have Portal Hall listed.

Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton are united through the magic of digital technology to promote tourism in their home state of Tennessee. So they appear together (although digitally) in a Tennessee tv advertisment. I've seen it...it is cute.

The 3rd question also intrigued me. After searching FOREVER (ok probably an hour) I finally found it I think!

Aw man! I was waiting, after giving up to give the kids the use of the computer for Schoolhouse Rock, to continue my search for question #3. But now that I have time to resume the search, it's been found!
Can I just play with the database for fun now? :-)

Oh, please do!!! Tell us what other goodies you find to keep us searching. You could even pose it in the form of a question to challenge your fellow L&Ders, like Wendy, Sue & Genny did.

Cool--here's my question for you:
What famous individual in Native American history became the first president of the Cherokee nation?
Bonus question: In what year did this occur?
