Thanks, Polly, for sharing! That was a cool shout out to our illustrious team, and, of course, I got sidetracked by reading the other posts there. Since I had just read the story about "Palin the Library Patron" this morning, I was interested to read the comments on a library-focused blog.

Search for Palin in LibWorm and Liszen if you want the library blog view. Lots of results in both search engines.

Thanks, Polly. I'm also watching this one.

There are other templates too - some are cool and some are kind of creepy. But the seal is neat!

Christi posted this story a while ago to an SLA listerv - on libraries lending folks for 30 minute conversations.

I had read about this and was fascinated. Often volumes of insight can be garnered from an honest and open 30-minute conversation. Is this idea not akin to the This American Life "Talk to an Iraqi" episode, but in a different context?

I would love, love, love to see this get started at Nashville Public or Rutherford County. Since I seem to collect labels and stereotypes like they are going out of style and would like more people understand the communities to which I belong, I would welcome the opportunity to "be a book". Besides, in this fabulous political era we are living, it would be nice to have a conversation with someone without getting in a huge argument. You could ask questions and learn something different from your point of view.
