I've done something to keep it alive at the Elmore City Dance Club. Click on the yellow triangle to play it.

Polly, is this available in a "two left feet" model? ;-)

Yes'm you can create left foot only with right foot lifted, write a description of how each step should be done, choose different music, select a different background.

I'm sure you would figure out how to hack it for two left feet - please try it and post the results here. I have complete confidence in your abilities.

Oh, Polly, both my feet are left when it comes to dance steps. My model would consist primarily of my backside on the floor...

Oh, Polly, this is so cute! So now we are going to be exercising our bodies as well as our minds---if we could keep up with these steps. Maybe you could create a new dance---"The Discover"---for all attending Datafest. Noooo, I won't be going. But it will be fun I'm sure.

Thats great Polly. So we can expect to see you perform this at the Datafest.

I am not attending Datafest so I leave the dance dance revolution to all who are partying in Nashville. I do wish someone would improve on the dance - I ran out of time. It needs some work on the right side movements. Mostly this is a shimmy, shimmy, slide, and turn around routine. Lots of booty-shaking is implied so Mona-on-the-floor is not one of the steps.

Try creating a dance yourself because it is a mental exercise of keeping disparate elements coordinated - an activity highly recommended for delaying Alzheimer's Disease.

Could this also be used in schools to teach spatial awareness within a timekeeping mechanism?

And the music is fun. Clicking on the radio dial changes the type of music. Watch and listen to some of the already created ones on the home page of the Elmore City Dance Club.

I'm disappointed you won't be in Nashville. :-(

And - Mona and dancing are most definitely disparate elements...

I agree that we need this kind of thing to continue. I like the idea of continuing "lessons" to keep us motivating. Perhaps we could elect a board of people (3-5?) from around the state to develop lessons to highlight some of their favourite tools (for a year?) that would be distributed to the list (once a month?). Of course, new members to the Ning are always welcome. Whether they are inspired by 23 Things or the WebWare top 100, we could still keep learning. I would be willing to participate on the board, if you wouldn't mind.

The board is a brilliant idea.

I have had lots of fun and learned so much here. Kinda got to look forward to the new week's lesson to see what I was gonna have to dig into to master. Now I am just looking forward to going back and looking at all the posts and seeing what all I missed for lack of time. I hope this stays up so I can keep coming back and reviewing how to do things I didn't try. And it would be great to have a sort of blog just for new places to discover and our experiences with the new suggestions.

Would like to thank everyone who worked so hard during these 10 weeks to make learning fun. And all those who kept pushing me to continue and not give up. Sometimes we all need "a little help from our friends." Thanks---you all got me out of a GIANT RUT! I, for one would like to see this continue. Hey, lets do another round of "learn and discover" next summer.

Thanks for all the work on this, James and Mona. I still have quite a way to go, but I am at least not as ignorant as I was at the beginning of the summer! I am looking forward to using many of the tools you have introduced--and I'm delighted that I've discovered our library's access to some TEL things that were "hidden" before. I was especially appreciative of the "catch-up" weeks that let me stay involved in spite of in-service and vacation time. Everyone in the group has been very supportive.
