A lot of us have used social networks before. A lot of us haven't. Doesn't matter which camp you're in, you'll still have questions from time to time. So, come on down and ask! Anyone in the Learn & Discover group can answer - just sign in first!

I need comment help! When someone comments on your wall and you want to comment back, where do you comment? Do you comment on your own wall, thus preserving the thread of the conversation? Or do you comment on the original commenter's wall?

Reply to This

You reply on their wall that way they know you replied. You click the comment back button then you can use the view thread button to view the conversation in order.

Thanks! I never paid attention to the thread button. I'll have to look for that.

Where did you find this image? It's GREAT!

When I click comment back, it takes me to their wall. So that is where I reply.

So it's Monday morning, 9AM central, and I think this site sent me almost 50 notification emails in the past hour - yikes! Thank goodness I can keep monitoring the site itself and customize the emails I receive through the My Settings > Email page.

Yup, fifty gajillion emails in no time! So I created a new folder in GW where they are parked for future reference when I have to prove to you I did all the tasks prior to Sept. 1.

I hope blogging is next on the list because Tom and I have already started ... hee hee hee.

I too have a specialized folder in my e-mail, but I realize once I'm on the site, I tend to just keep following threads until I hit the end again. :)

Talk about blogging, if you want to. Start a forum like Jenny did. That's what Learn & Discover (and sharing) is all about.

I have a photo that I'd like to use as my avatar. However, it is stored on Snapfish. Does anybody know how I would transfer it?

You could save the picture to your desktop and then upload the picture from there.

I guess I don't really understand what social networking is all about. It just seems like a message board. Where is there an explanation of what is going on here?
Thanks

Good point. I love a good message board. This area of the network is a message board (ning calls it a forum), but it is only part of the concept.

The social network improves on the old message board by giving each participant their own web page, its own comment area, email functions, blogs, events, and such. The possibilities are endless.

Beyond that, social networks let you view the contacts of your colleagues or friends. This can be useful for professional or casual networking.

We will also be exploring different topics in the coming weeks, so if the social networks post was a drag for you, come back next week when we shift gears.
