I've had a lot of fun learning all this new and exciting stuff for these past 8 weeks. With practice I feel like I now know how to keep current on technology. Another great place to share really good sites and Learning Objects is MERLOT: http://www.merlot.org/merlot/index.htm
It's a Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching. It's free and the objects are peer reviewed. You can also create your own personal collectons. Check it out! I think you might find it useful.
Etsy is one of the coolest sites around! Looking for odd little handcrafted things? Oh, but only purple stuff, since it's for a gift for a "purple" person? Use the color search. Want hand-dyed yarn for some one of a kind socks? easy to find using the search box. Jewelry? Check. Tiles? Yep. Vintage stuff? You'll find it here. Completely cool and fun!
I also took a look at Etsy. I liked the fact that it had a shop local feature where you could purchase handmade objects from local artists. It also had a variety of other interesting ways to search through listings, such as the pounce option. Selecting pounce gives you two methods for browsing. You can browse either the shops that have sold items most recently or those shops that have not sold any items yet.
Yes! Fans of the Thinking out of the Lunch Box series will be thrilled with this video podcast. Also, check the Nashville Public Library RSS page, if that link doesn't work.
Well, I've registered at jumpcut. I have some video I've been wanting to edit and Windows Movie Maker is a little quirky. I'm going to give this a whirl.
And my new favorite...Wordle!
Thanks team for a great summer! Because of Learn & Discover I've been able to transition from being an online student and continue learning in the process. Kudos all around!
Since many of the TV programs I want to watch occur while I am asleep or at work, Google Calendar is a tool I use every day to keep track of the TV taping schedule. Even when there are two events in the same time frame, GCal can show both. Notice Wed., 8/20
The calendar viewing options are for day, week, month, 4 days, or agenda.
Printing uses agenda view and there are options for how many days to print.
You can add other calendars such as US holidays, your favorite football team's calendar, and calendars of family or friends. The calendar can be private or shared or public. You can have the calendar email notifications to your email to remind you of an event. The number of ways to use this online app are quite varied.
